In Alma’s mountain dairies, the cheesemaking culture of Vorarlberg (Austria) has been preserved through genuine craftsmanship for generations. High above Lake Constance, traditional Vorarlberger Bergkäse PDO is made from fresh, silage-free Hay Milk TSG – crafted according to time-honoured cheesemaking traditions and with a deep understanding of quality, maturation and flavour development.

High above Lake Constance lies Alma Mountain Dairy Hinteregg – a true hidden gem for cheese lovers. Since 1938, traditional Vorarlberger Bergkäse PDO has been crafted here from fresh hay milk supplied by around a dozen local farms. Cheesemaker Sebastian and his team continue this long-standing tradition with skill, dedication and a passion for quality.

Alma Mountain Dairy Lutzenreute
For more than 100 years, Alma Mountain Dairy Lutzenreute has stood for authentic cheesemaking tradition from Vorarlberg (Austria). At an altitude of over 800 metres (2,600 ft), Vorarlberger Bergkäse PDO is crafted here from silage-free Hay Milk. Julia and her team carefully produce each cheese by hand before it is matured on traditional spruce boards to develop its distinctive flavour and character.
The mountain dairy can be reached via the Josef Rupp Cheese Trail and combines regional cheese specialities with breathtaking views across Lake Constance.
